BPI-R4 WiFi 7 Router for High Performance

Built on MediaTek’s MT7988A (Filogic 880), this router platform delivers enterprise-class throughput and reliability for wired and wireless deployments. The quad-core Arm Cortex-A73 1.8 GHz CPU pairs with 4 GB DDR4 and high-speed storage (8 GB eMMC, 128 MB SPI-NAND, microSD) to ensure snappy routing, content filtering, and application services.

For next-gen wireless, the design supports tri-band Wi-Fi 7 via companion radios—unlocking 320 MHz channels, 4096-QAM, MLO, MRU, and AFC for low-latency, multi-link performance across 2.4/5/6 GHz. On the wired side, you get dual 10 GbE SFP slots (with an option to reconfigure to 1×10 GbE SFP + 1×SoC-embedded 2.5 GbE PHY via hardware modification), plus 4×GbE LAN for flexible uplinks and LAN segmentation.

MediaTek’s Tunnel Offload Processor System (TOPS) accelerates modern tunneling workloads—offloading a wide range of protocols to preserve CPU cycles for services and applications. Expansion is first-class: M.2 Key-B (USB 3.2/PCIe 3.0) for 4G/5G modems, M.2 Key-M (PCIe 3.0 x1) for NVMe SSDs, and two miniPCIe slots (PCIe 3.0 x2) for Wi-Fi 7 NICs. A 26-pin GPIO header enables custom I/O and automation projects, while optional PoE simplifies single-cable deployments.
